WHAT WE DO

Each weekly playgroup session roughly follows the same format:

  • free play for the children with a variety of toys suitable for different ages; this is a good time for the adults to chat and socialise

  • a craft for the children to make and bring home; this is provided by a member of the playgroup on a rotational basis

  • refreshments - a snack for the children (fruit, crackers, popcorn) and for the adults

  • a story

  • songs and dancing for the children (and adults!)

We also organise small festive activities that are great fun for everyone, like an Easter egg hunt or a visit from Father Christmas. Our group is enriched by active participation from its members, so suggestions and contributions are always appreciated!

In the summer, there are no playgroup meetings at the Open House. Instead, there are informal weekly gatherings held at various child-friendly parks and playgrounds across the city of Geneva. These are free and everyone is welcome to join.

High chairs, a microwave, a diaper change area, potties, and a soft playmat for babies are available for use.

English is the primary language used at GIP.
